2003 Japan Bowl Nationals

This year Silver Creek took one team to Washington D.C. for the National Japan Bowl competition. Our veteran team of Miriam-san, Ngoc-lan-san, and of course, the captain Ami-chan battled the best teams in the United States and came away with a 6th place finish overall. Not a bad showing, considering they competed against the eventual champions, Styvessant High School from New York, in their preliminary round (Styvessant went on to national championships in all three levels of Japan Bowl this year--a rare feat indeed). As always, the students had a great time and enjoyed an added bonus when local rival and sister school Lynbrook High placed 2nd in the J3 finals. Northern California was well represented by Silver Creek and Lynbrook. Yoku dekimashita!
