2004 Culture Festival

For the past four years, the Japanese teachers of the Bay Area have worked together to offer their students a chance to experience Japanese culture firsthand outside the classroom. To this end, they have created the Annual Bunkasai (Culture Festival). This one-day event brings several hundred children and adolescents together from around Northern California to participate in a number of different cultural workshops taught by the teachers themselves. Silver Creek has attended every festival so far, and for the past two years we have journeyed north to Mills High School (where Hall sensei did his student teaching) in order to partake of this fun, free learning opportunity.
