Last December, SCTHJP students traveled to Los Angeles to take the internationally recognized Japanese Language Proficiency Test. This test, given on one day around the world by the Japan Foundation and the Japanese Government, consists of a Reading Section, a Listening Section, and a Chinese character (kanji) section. Students who pass the exam are given a certificate ranking them based on their skill with the language. Most high school students never take this test because it is too difficult. This year, Silver Creek took 34 students. The Japanese Language Foundation, in conjunction with the Japanese government, recently issued certificates to those who passed this grueling examination. Congratulations to the Japanese 2 and Japanese 4 students who received passing scores for Level 3 and Level 4 this year!
Level 3: Rochelle Chantengco, Danny Pham, Trinh Pham, Ellis Tran, and Jane Tran.
Level 4: Matthew Fernandez, Tim Grijalva, Alex Ho, Kim Hoang, Bao Le, Truc Le, Robert Lee, San Mai, Anny Pham, Karen Ta, Anthony Tran, Eliza Tran, Khanh Trinh, Jennifer Tran-Math, Audrey Truong, William Truong, Chris Van, and Kalvin Van Gaasbeck.
